This chart is a resource to provide a visual representation of seed shelf life, as a reference to farmers who save seed, or store extra seeds after the growing season. It places 40+ vegetables on the chart in accordance to their shelf life.

Seed saving can be a great way to reduce spring seed costs, but if farmers don’t know how long they keep, it may do more harm than good regarding crop planning. If farmers know exactly how long seeds last on the shelf, they can make informed choices about saving seeds year to year, and further expand their abilities to do long-term planning.
